Free Dresser

I scored these two pieces for FREE off craigslist! The man said his ex was a crazy b#&*h and he wanted her stuff outttttttttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa there! :) lol So, I was more than happy to accomodate his wishes!

  1. Hey I love your furniture revamps.I am about to to a dresser and nightstand almost like these for my 12 year olds room. How do you prepare the wood? Sand 1st? Kilz? Prime? or just paint? Thanks. Love your site.

  2. Thanks! It's actually super easy, it's just finding the time that's hard. I start by sanding with a 80 grit to rough it up. I use my ryobi cat and mouse hand sander but you can do by hand if you don't have one. I then sip off with damp rag, let dry and then spray with kilz. I seem to find it sprays less chalky if I shake the can for the full two minutes. After it is dried take a piece of 220 and rub gently all over. This is a quick step, smooths right out. That should only take a few minutes. Then I use a high density foam roller and BEHR ultra paints. I would love to see your before and after! :) let me know if you have any questions!
